Detailed project description

This project aims to promote integrated, sustainable and inclusive management of natural resources in the Sahelian regions, which are highly vulnerable to desertification and the effects of climate change.
It operates in the Dosso and Tahoua regions, engaging local, institutional and civil society stakeholders to restore degraded ecosystems and improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations.

Overall objective
To contribute to the sustainable restoration of ecosystems and the improvement of natural resource management in order to strengthen the resilience of Sahelian populations in the face of desertification and climate change.

Specific objectives
SO1: To promote sustainable, inclusive and locally-led natural resource management by addressing the causes and impacts of desertification.
SO2: Strengthen collaboration, information sharing and the exchange of expertise between national and regional stakeholders.

Expected outcomes
• Improved land and resource governance,
• Restoration of degraded land,
• Adoption of agroecological practices and sustainable water management,
• Capacity building in monitoring, evaluation and climate finance,
• As well as greater involvement of civil society and research in the fight against land degradation.
