Pre-feasibility Study for the Possible Transport Connection with the Croatian Territory

Full description of the project

The purpose of the pre-feasibility study is to enable the Commission to assess the possible co-financing of the construction of transport infrastructure connecting the separated territory of Croatia from EU funds. The study should assess the possible transport links between the two separate parts of the Croatian territory (future EU) and identify the most economically, environmentally and politically advantageous option, while assessing the legal, long-term sustainability implications. Possible solutions should be evaluated, including bridge, ferry and continental corridor.

Overall objective

To ensure the continuity of the territory of the Republic of Croatia and to ensure the security of the future external border of the EU, taking into account existing EU legislation in the field of border and customs control, veterinary and phytosanitary inspection, trans-European transport networks and future political developments.

Specific objective

Examine all available options to connect the Croatian territory West and East of Neum.
