Technical Assistance for the Preparation of Tender Documents for the Industrial Organic Compounds missions

Full description of the project

Since 1986, there is environmental legislation to limit organic gases and vapors emissions and to define the authorization procedure according to their capacity and activity. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry has been responsible for issuing emission permits since May 2003. The main outcomes of this project will be the development of a draft law and its implementation, and the development of administrative and technical capacity. The project will have two components: twinning and technical assistance.

Overall objective

• The control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in order to improve the quality of the environment in Turkey and reduce and/or prevent potential risks to human health and prevent pollution of the ozone layer.

Specific objective

• Assist in the preparation of the terms of reference for the technical assistance component of the project which aims to develop the administrative, legal, and structural requirements to harmonize and implement the three EU volatile organic compound directives.
