Technical Assistance – Support for the Implementation of the Roadmap in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

The project aims to strengthen the partnership between the European Union and Mauritanian civil society through the establishment of an inclusive monitoring and evaluation framework, the updating of the 2026–2029 Roadmap, and the establishment of a structured strategic dialogue between public actors, CSOs and technical and financial partners.
General objective
To strengthen structured and sustainable engagement between the European Union and civil society in Mauritania through an inclusive monitoring and evaluation system and mechanisms for strategic and institutional dialogue covering the period 2026–2029.
Specific objectives
• To establish a structured monitoring and evaluation system and update the Roadmap by integrating the gender dimension.
• Consolidate the framework for collaboration between the DUE and the CDHAHRSC and strengthen coordination with Member States and partners.
• Organise multi-stakeholder thematic forums for the exchange of experiences among CSOs on human rights, citizenship, basic services, food security, the environment and access to natural resources.
• Support the analysis and improvement of existing institutional mechanisms to optimise strategic steering and monitoring tools.
Expected results
• New 2026–2029 Roadmap validated and its monitoring plan operational.
• An up-to-date mapping of Mauritanian civil society and a consolidated strategic coordination framework between the DUE, Member States and other partners.
