Short Term Interim Technical Assistance to Develop the Air Function for the Egyptian Water and Wastewater Regulatory Agency (EWRA)

Full description of the project

The purpose of the current mandate is to continue to support the Egyptian Water Regulatory Agency (EWRA) through the provision of short-term technical assistance during the interim period between the end of the EU TA phase and the start of Phase II scheduled to begin in October 2010. The assistance is intended to cover a specific regulatory function, namely the annual reporting of “AIR” information already defined in Phase I.

Overall objective

To contribute to the development of World Class water and sanitation in Egypt by providing the basis for the development of the Egyptian Water Agency’s regulations to become an effective means of economic regulation and drinking water quality.

Specific objective

Provide short-term Technical Assistance for EWRA during the interim period between the end of the TA phase (October 2009) and the beginning of Phase II (October 2010), by providing technical assistance in the design and development of the annual AIR database feedback.
